GENERAL INFORMATION
The Main Square Festival takes place in Arras Citadel, Boulevard du General De Gaulle, Arras, Nord – Pas- de-Calais
In the heart of Europe, the town of Arras is at a European crossroads where many communication roads meet. Arras is equidistant between Brussels, Paris and London.
Built between 1667 and 1672 after Vauban's plans, the Citadell is listed among the UNESCO world heritage. In 2010, the Main Square Festival settled in the heart of a 40 hectares park located very near the town centre.Thanks to the 10 hectares area of the Citadel, this vast place enables us to give the artists and the public exceptional conditions for enjoying the most of the greastest shows in this magnificent setting.
You'll find a lot of practical information allowing you to organize your coming to Arras so that you can take the best of the festival and spend the most pleasant stay with us.

Food and Beverages
During a festival, it is really important to drink fluids and eat in order to be in the best shape to enjoy the shows all day long.
We are keeping to the system of using tokens for the beverages and we have increased the number of cashpoints and bars in order to reduce the time waiting in line.
We will also be providing some additional food stalls where you will be able to choose from a wider range of quality foods, such as :

- TexMex
- Thaï

- Indian
- Corse
- Argentian
- Pasta
- Etc…
Unlike last year, you will be able to buy your meal with cash directly at the stalls.
You will also discover a new relaxing area with a wine and champagne bar and a restaurant with local specialities.What can we bring?
The Main Square Festival welcomes 40 000 persons per day on the festivall ground. For the safety of all, some rules must be respected during the event and some objects aren’t allowed in the area.
Please take a look on the list below :
Not allowed objects in the area
• Glass and plastic bottles, can, paper and plastic cups
• Weapons, explosive, inflammable and volatile substances
• Pyrotechnic stuff, candles
• Sharp objects, pocket or other knives
• Any objects which might be used as a projectile
• Professionnal audiovisual recording equipments (professionnal camera, video camera, DAT or MD recorder)
• Folding chairs, large backpacks, tents and all kinds of camping gear (to the camper, you should set up your camp before your venue on the festival ground), plates and flasks
• Flagpoles, parasols, non-retractable umbrella’s with pins
• Bicycle pumps and bicycle repair equipment, crash helmet
• Flyers, stickers and other political, religious or promotional material
Allowed objects
• Simple disposable or pocket cameras
• Sandwiches
• Retractable umbrellas without pin
• Plastic and blankets
• Sun lotion and sun glasses
• Refreshment water in a vaporizer
• Small backpacks or other bags
Cash
On the festival ground, many stalls offer paid-for services : beverages, foods and merchandising. You will be able to pay by cash or credit cards at these dedicated desks.
Beverages will be available in exchange of tickets which have to be bought at the tills planned for that purpose (See Food & beverages section).
THERE IS NO CASHPOINTS ON THE FESTIVAL GROUND. PLEASE MAKE PROVISION.
Lockers
To enjoy the gigs free and easy, safelockers will be available at the entrance of the ground.
