Live Nation today hailed the weekend’s Main Square Festival – which this year was staged in the Citadel of Arras – as the best ever, with 35,000 fans packing each of the three days of the event, making it a sell-out.

All eyes now turn to Prince’s appearance this Friday 9 July on the same site.

Not even the intermittent rain could dampen the fans’ passion for a great line-up, including Pearl Jam, David Guetta and The Black Eyed Peas headlining, as well as P!nk, Jamiroquai, M, Phoenix and Ben Harper, Florence and The Machine, which climaxed Sunday night with a literally explosive and pyrotechnic show from Rammstein.

Live Nation spokesperson Isabelle Gamsohn, said today:

“The Citadel proved a great success as an environment for the Main Square Festival, and the feedback we have had from fans has been really encouraging.

“The festival is a great showcase for Arras, and shows that the city is capable of hosting world-class events, which put the spotlight on a great region of France.
